Sculptra - Collagen Producing Injection
Sculptra is a bio stimulator injection which stimulates the body to produce collagen.
Sculptra works by thickening the dermis of the skin, which smooths out the surface and adds volume to areas of the face that have lost volume over time. Sculptra® is a synthetic injectable material known as "poly-L-lactic acid." Poly-L-lactic acid is both biocompatible (ie, a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (ie, able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been used for many years in a variety of medically-related uses, including dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other types of implants.
How does Sculptra® work?
Sculptra® is injected below the surface of the skin; it is injected directly into the area of fat loss. Skin thickness decreases as people age; Sculptra® works to restore a gradual increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions.
Are the results from Sculptra® immediate?
No. After your first treatment, it may appear that Sculptra® worked immediately; this is because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. After a few days, when the swelling goes down and your body absorbs the water, you may look as you did before your treatment. Sculptra® takes time to gradually correct the depression in your skin and restore volume.
How many treatments are required?
Patients with severe facial fat loss may need to visit our office 3 to 6 times for repeat treatment sessions. Sculptra is performed in a series of 1 to 6 treatments scheduled at least 4 weeks apart.
How long do treatment results last?
Treatment results will differ from person to person. In a clinical study, treatment results were shown to last for up to 2 years after the first treatment session, in most patients. Touch-up Sculptra® treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
Do injections of Sculptra® hurt?
As with any injection, injections with Sculptra® may hurt. Sculptra® is injected in small amounts using a very fine needle, and effort is taken to minimize the discomfort.

Chemical Peel
A medical-grade chemical peel is a mildly invasive procedure used to remove the upper layers of dry, damaged skin.
Over time our skin can experience laxity, hyperpigmentation, texture changes, dullness, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores and discolorations. A medical-grade chemical peel is a mildly invasive procedure used to remove the upper layers of dry, damaged skin. This allows for cell proliferation which will fade brown spots and melasma, minimize pore size, decrease acne, and gives your collagen production a boost, which results in a more youthful glow. Ask us the benefits of dermaplanning prior to your peel!
Chemical Peel Pre-treatment
- Make sure to inform your provider if you have an allergy to Aspirin or Phenol, as certain peels are contraindicated for these allergies.
- Sun exposure and/or usage of a tanning bed, including self-tanning products must be avoided for 1 week prior.
- Avoid Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin® (Adapalene 0.1%), Tazorac®, any Retinol products, or lightening products 7-10 days prior to treatment.
- Alert your provider if you have taken any new prescriptions (specifically antibiotics) and/or acne medication in the last 6-9 months.
- Arrive to appointment with clean skin.
Chemical Peel Post-treatment Guidelines
- Avoid sun exposure and/or use of tanning bed, including self-tanning products for 2 weeks after the treatment. Sun exposure within 2 weeks after treatment (natural sunlight or artificial tanning booth) may result in hypopigmentation (white spots) or hyperpigmentation (dark spots) that may not clear for several months or may even be permanent.
- Plan NOT to exercise vigorously for the next 3-4 days after treatment. Avoid excessive perspiration, as sweating may induce itching, water blisters and excessive internal warming which can induce post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (Includes no hot tubs, saunas, or steam rooms).
- Do NOT wash your skin till the morning after procedure.
- Expect to begin flaking or peeling for approximately 2-7 days. Continue to moisturize the treated area for the duration of the peeling process. DO NOT pick or peel at loose skin. Picking or scrubbing at the skin in an attempt to speed the sloughing process can lead to pigment irregularities including scarring of the skin.
- DO NOT worry if you don’t peel at all! Sometimes effective peels on skin in good condition will not go through the peeling process; the skin may only look rosy and have a glow after treatment.
- Wash the treated area gently twice a day with a gentle cleanser (tepid water only), apply a healing and soothing moisturizer as often as needed, and wear sunscreen SPF 30+ daily.

Kybella / Fat Dissolver
Kybella is an FDA approved injection indicated for improvement in the appearance of submental fullness associated with submental fat.
The results of Kybella are not immediate. At your treatment you will receive a series of injections in the submental area. At the time of injection and for several days following the injections you will have swelling in the submental area.
Kybella will cause the fat cells to diminish gradually over the course of the next month following your injection in the treated area. A series of treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results. These will occur no sooner than the one month interval. Your medical provider will decide the appropriate number of treatment sessions and the amount of Kybella you will need at each session. 1-6 treatment are recommended depending on desired results.

Exceed Medical Microneedling
Microneedling is a collagen induction rejuvenation treatment that generates new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.
It involves prickling the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. Microneedling is not painful, has minimal to no downtime, and leaves your skin looking tighter and rejuvenated. This treatment is good for all skin types. Microneedling May help with issues such as: hair loss, hyperpigmentation, large pores, reduced skin elasticity, scars, acne scars, stretch marks, sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. These naturally occurring healing responses continue to enhance the skin in the weeks and months following treatment, ensuring long-term improvement. Several sessions may be necessary to achieve desired results. Treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart.

Sclerotherapy - Spider Vein Treatment
Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating superficial telangiectasias (“spider veins”) and reticular veins (“feeder veins”) in which a solution, called a sclerosing agent, is injected into the veins.
The injection causes a sclerosis or the formation of fibrous tissue (clotting) in the vessel subsequent to an inflammatory reaction. This process causes a gradual fading of the treated vessel over a period of several weeks to several months.
DOES SCLEROTHERAPY WORK FOR EVERYONE?
Most people treated will have good results, however, there is no guarantee that sclerotherapy will be effective in every case. Approximately 10% of patients who undergo sclerotherapy have poor to fair results. (“Poor results” means that the veins have not totally disappeared after six treatments.) In very rare instances, the patient’s condition may become worse after sclerotherapy treatment. I also understand the sclerosing solution being used is FDA approved.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments differs from patient to patient, depending on the extent of spider veins present. One to six or more treatments may be needed; the average is three to four. Individual veins usually require one to three treatments.
SCLEROTHERAPY POST- TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
We want your Sclerotherapy treatment to be as successful as possible. It is for this reason, we recommend several measures to assure we attain optimal results.
AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
- Immediately after the procedure, you may be required to put on support hose and walk for 10-30 minutes. Be sure to have loose-fitting slacks/skirt and comfortable walking shoes with you. 3-7 days of compression shows better results than no compression at all. Please consider 40-50mmHg compression, 10-20mmHg is better than nothing. Can purchase from drug store.
- Maintain normal activities. Exercise is an important part of the healing process. You are encouraged to walk as much as possible and avoid standing in a single position for prolonged periods of time. A 20 minute walk or bike ride twice a day is best for the healing process. However, avoiding strenuous physical activities such as high-impact aerobics, running, weight lifting, for the first 48-72 hours following your treatment is recommended.
- You may experience slight discomfort such as aching or throbbing for the first day or two after your initial treatment. Walking will help to dissipate this sensation. We prefer you avoid blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil Anaprox, Vioxx, etc. for 24-48 hours following your treatment (you may take Tylenol). However if in the case of continued discomfort, Ibuprofen (Advil or Alleve) may be taken with food if you do not have sensitivity to these medications.
- Taped compression pads/cotton balls may be gently removed two to twenty-four hours after your sclerotherapy procedure (your sclerotherapist will discuss the exact time with you). If you notice a developing redness or rash (this may be a sensitivity to the tape) remove tape and put on some support stockings.** We recommend that you sleep with your support hose for the first night and then wear them during the day for approximately one week.
- The vessels may appear to turn dark in color and/or be slightly tender. This could be an entrapment of blood in the closed vessels, a normal response to the procedure, and may clear on its own or will be evacuated at the time of the next treatment session if necessary. Bruising may occur especially after the first treatment. Do not be alarmed, this is a normal process.
- Avoid long “hot” baths and showers and saunas for 1-2 weeks following your treatment. It is also a good idea to cool your legs with cold water after each bath or shower.
- Avoid Sunbathing and Ultraviolet Exposure for at least 7-10 days following your treatment. Treated areas may become tender and more likely to burn, and the possibility of an increased risk of hyperpigmention.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools for 48 hours following your treatment.
- Should you experience any redness or a small lump, use warm compresses several times a day and as often as possible. If you experience any open areas (s) you may use Polysporin Ointment (NOT Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment) to the affected area.
- You may apply lotion and creams 24-48 hours post treatment.
It is important to remember that it has taken years for these veins to develop, and they will not disappear overnight. It may take 10 days-2 weeks and sometimes longer for the vessels to clear (fading and lightening of your spider veins). Please be patient and allow time for the healing process to occur. Always bring a pair of shorts to wear during your treatment session.

PRP/PRF (Platelet Rich Plastma/Fibrin)
Platelet Rich Plasma, or also known as “PRP” is a procedure where your own blood is drawn and spun down to extract the platelets.
PRP is then injected or used during microneedling. Platelets are very small cells in your blood that are involved in the clotting process. When PRP is injected into the damaged area it causes a mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade. As the platelets organize in the clot they release a number of enzymes to promote healing and tissue responses including attracting stem cells to repair the damaged area. As a result new collagen begins to develop. As the collagen matures it begins to shrink causing the tightening and strengthening of the damaged area. When treating injured or sun and time damaged tissue they can induce a remodeling of the tissue to a healthier and younger state. The full procedure takes approximately 45 minutes - 1 hr. Generally 2-3 treatments are advised, however, more may be indicated for some individuals. Touch up treatment may be done once a year after the initial group of treatments to boost and maintain the results.
PRP’S SAFETY has been established for over 20 years for its wound healing properties and it’s proven effectiveness has extended across multiple medical specialties. PRP’s emergence into aesthetics and skin rejuvenation began in 2004. Areas typically treated for aesthetic purposes and skin rejuvenation include: Crinkling skin around the eyes, cheeks and mid-face, neck, jaw-line, chest and décolletage, back of hands and arms, lips, and to stimulate hair growth on scalp.
PRP is known to have overall rejuvenating effects on the skin as in: improving skin tone and texture, improving fine lines and wrinkles, increasing volume via the increased production of collagen and elastin, diminishing and improving the appearance of scars and hyperpigmentation issues, stimulating hair growth on scalp, tightening skin, and improving moisture retention. The most dramatic results so far have been the crepey skin problems in areas such as under the eyes, neck, and décolletage areas.. Other benefits: minimal down time, safe with minimal risk, short recovery time, natural looking results, no general anesthesia is required.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: There are very few contraindications, however, patients with the following conditions are not candidates: 1) Acute and Chronic Infections 2) Skin diseases (i.e. SLE, porphyria, allergies) 3) Cancer 3) Chemotherapy 4) Severe metabolic and systemic disorders 5) Abnormal platelet function (blood disorders, i.e. Haemodynamic Instability, Hypofibrinogenaemia, Critical Thrombocytopenia) 6) Chronic Liver Pathology 7) Anti-coagulation therapy, 8) Underlying Sepsis and 9) Systemic use of corticosteroids within two weeks of the procedure.
RESULTS: Results are generally visible at 3 weeks and continue to improve gradually over ensuing months (3-6) with improvement in texture and tone. Current data shows results may last 18-24 months. Of course all individuals are different so there will be variations from one person to the next.

PDO Threads
A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin.
A PDO thread lift is a revolutionary new treatment in the world of aesthetics, but PDO threads themselves have been used safely for decades for various applications, like treating gynecological disorders or suturing incisions after medical procedures. When used as an aesthetic treatment, there are a few things you should know.
First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production and neovascularization to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more elastic skin.
